Equipped with a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine paired to an electric motor, the 2025 Kia Carnival Hybrid will produce 242 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque. When will it be available? And what other changes will Kia make to the revamped 2025 version of the fourth-generation Kia minivan?
HYBRID
Joining the hybrid lineup that features the Niro, Sportage, and Sorento, the 2025 Carnival's hybrid system is largely taken over from the Sorento. But there are differences that amount to more power, including a 54-KW drive motor, the greatest output of any Kia hybrid.
CONFIGURATIONS
For the first time, you can now option up to the top-of-the-line Carnival SX and choose your seating configuration. Traditionally, opting for the Carnival SX meant selecting second-row VIP captain's chairs. And you can still do that. But now there's also the option of choosing an SX with an 8-passenger configuration.
UPDATES
The hybrid option is certainly not the only change to the 2025 Carnival. There's an entirely new front fascia, new light designs out back, and five new wheel designs. The Carnival will now come standard with trailer pre-wiring. Inherited from the new EV9 electric SUV is Kia's Connected Car Navigation Cockpit, a digital dashboard that incoporates Kia's tech, including advanced driver assistance systems.
The Carnival will now be available with Kia Connect (for remote start, adjusting climate, etc.) as well as Digital Key 2.0, which turns your smartphone into a key.
RELEASE DATE
Kia Canada expects the updated 2025 Carnival to land in Kia showrooms this spring. The 2025 Kia Carnival Hybrid is expected shortly thereafter in the summer of 2024.
