In the midst of a product revolution that's overhauling almost the entire brand, Kia scored a pair of major victories at the 2022 AJAC Canadian Car Of The Year awards.
The Kia Carnival was crowned by AJAC as 2022's Best Minivan, outperforming the Toyota Sienna and Chrysler Pacifica. The Carnival replaced the Sedona for the 2022 model year and drove Kia's minivan market share to much higher levels. 13% of the minivans sold in Canada in 2021 were Kias. In fact, Kia minivan market share is now more than quadruple what it was in 2015. 2021 was the seventh consecutive year in which Kia increased its share of Canada's minivan market.
Meanwhile, one year after the Kia Telluride won AJAC's Large Utility Vehicle Of The Year award in 2021, another three-row Kia took home the title of Large Utility Vehicle Of The Year award for 2022: the Kia Sorento. The fourth-generation Sorento now comes standard with three rows of seating and all-wheel drive.
