In a matter of days, the month of July will have come and gone in another PEI summer. As the lupins disappear and the longer evenings begin to wind down, it might be easy to convince yourself that it’s time to return to reality. After all, back-to-school sales are ON NOW! Summer is basically over… right?
Wrong. We still have new potatoes, beach days, bonfires, and drive-ins! And we haven’t even started on the dairy bars! There are at least two more months to enjoy the very best of everything the Island has to offer. August isn’t the beginning of the end, it’s peak summer on PEI. It also happens to be Family Fun Month!
And what better way to celebrate Family Fun Month than in the ultimate family vehicle? On sale now, the 2023 Kia Carnival has proven time and again that it’s more than a minivan. Cruising under the name of MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), LUV (life utility vehicle), along with a number of other pseudonyms, the Carnival has already earned a reputation for the impressive titles it’s gained after only two years on the market.
Best New Minivan
During the latest edition of their Best Family Car Awards, the editors of Parents named the Kia Carnival Best New Minivan (2022). They were particularly impressed with the Carnival’s handling, noting “it drives more like an SUV than a minivan. It's capable and easy to manage while delivering a quiet, comfortable ride.” The real “wow factor,” however, rests within the Carnival’s cabin:
With seating for seven or eight, it's great for kids—but also well-suited for discerning adults: the top of the line SX Prestige version features "VIP lounge" captains chairs that are heated and cooled, have extendable foot rests, and offer all the amenities of a limousine, from private screens to premium sound.
Family Vehicle of the Year
According to the automotive experts of AutoGuide.com, their choice for 2022’s Family Vehicle of the Year was obvious:
The Carnival comes with the sort of friendly driving dynamics and excellent sightlines no SUV can match.
But the best part of Kia’s family-friendly boxy ride? Kia continues to deliver on their “classic value proposition.” In addition to the massive suite of safety features and modest price tag, AutoGuide.com Editor, Kyle Patrick, believes the Carnival’s “genuinely cool design, clever interior choices that prioritize people over their things, and a long list of standard features make the Carnival the smart choice in the age of the crossover.”
Best Minivan in Canada
There’s no denying it. Over 100 of Canada’s finest automotive journalists agree that the Kia Carnival is the Best Minivan in Canada for 2022. During its first appearance on the list of Automotive Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) award-winning vehicles, jurors praised the Carnival’s exterior design, visibility, and overall value for earning their high marks.
